tay-brown asked: as far as the show goes which season do u think is the best and why and which season had the best couples

I think season one was when the show was at its best. Specifically, what’s called the “front 13” - the first 13 episodes, from ‘Pilot’ up to ‘Sectionals’. I just thought that the character and plot arcs were at their best for those episodes, and there was a lot of that unexpected snark and sarcasm that sort of died away after the first season.

Your second question is harder to answer, because most couples don’t belong in specific seasons (eg. Finn/Rachel have been in all three, as have Brittany/Santana). I can tell you that I most enjoyed the relationship drama in season 1 - there was a nicely set up quadrangle of romantic interest that I found really intriguing in the front 13 (Finn, Quinn, Rachel and Puck), and the last half of the season gave us Jesse/Rachel, Tina/Artie and Will/Emma, all of which were pretty gratifying at the time.

I found season 2 to be a little ridiculous in terms of ships, just because there was such an enormous quantity of them. The sheer number of relationships that happened in just 22 episodes meant that a) very few of them were delved into as much as they could have been, and b) a lot of them sort of lost their impact because we knew they were essentially meaningless (eg. Emma/Carl, Sam/Santana). A quick mental count tells me that there were at least 17 relationships featured that season, and it was just too many.

As for season 3, I guess I’ve found the ships to be a little lackluster. At this point it seems that characters are getting together with no real build-up or consequence, and that’s sort of boring in terms of storytelling. So although I still appreciate some of the older ships (Kurt/Blaine, Santana/Brittany), I didn’t get a whole lot of entertainment out of newer ones like Sugar/Rory or Quinn/Joe.
